When I was a kid, I was terribly disillusioned when they told me to wear my raincoat, but I was still soaking wet by the time I got to school.

Horses generally dislike wearing clothes unless the weather is awful. Fabric over fur isn't very comfortable, and easily overheats. But if it's sleeting, everyone wants to wear a coat!
