Read "A Light in the Darkness"

If you are a Torn World supporter, you can now read my poem "A Light in the Darkness."
Dorlai and Mikaar discuss romance while filling lamps.

If you like this poem and want to see more like it, please consider sending me credits or karma through Torn World's crowdfunding options.  Not a Torn World member, but still want to support the work? I have a permanent PayPal button on my LJ profile page.

BINGO: Second line bingo, genderqueer characters, 5 poems

I've posted my second bingo in my card for the [community profile] kink_bingo  fest.  It features Quinn from Schrodinger's Heroes in four poems and Rowen from Hart's Farm in one.  So this also meets the Trans/Genderqueer Characters Achievement.

This fest encourages people to push the limits of their comfort zone by creating erotica, pr0n, smut, and other sexy stuff in the many flavors of kinky, sensual, and otherwise exotic activities. It's open to all fandoms plus original content, and all kinds of material.  Expect much of the content to be NSFW.  Read the prompts and rules here. The signup post is here.

I thought this might be an effective way to attract some new readers. It's also useful for developing some of my more romantically adventurous series.

Read "Earthrise"

[personal profile] haikujaguar has just posted the first installment of "Earthrise."  I've read an earlier version of this, and it's a lovely story.  Romance, intrigue, space opera ... a lot of cool stuff that the mainstream publishers aren't much interested in.  For everything else, there's crowdfunding.  I've wanted to be able to share this with folks, for years, and now I can.  Highly recommended.

Cottoncandy Bingo

Below is my second card for [community profile] cottoncandy_bingo. This fest encourages people to create and share material focused on what is variously called fluff, schmoop, gentle fiction, light reading, comfort reading, positive thinking, chicken soup for the soul, or anything else that offers a fun alternative to usual run of sex, violence, and angst of modern media. It's open to all fandoms plus original content, and all kinds of material. Read the FAQ and rules here.

I had a great time filling my first card. I've written something for every square, although not quite all of them have been posted as of tonight. I've picked up at least a couple new readers and gotten some great inspiration. So I decided to continue the exercise.

And, shiny new idea! People are starting to show interest in specific prompts as the new cards have gone up. If you'd like to sponsor a particular square, especially if you have an idea for what character, series, or situation it would fit -- talk to me and we'll work something out.  I'll still post some of the fills for free, because I'm using this to attract new readers; but if it brings in money, that means I can do more of it.  That's part of why I'm crossing some of the bingo prompts with other projects, such as the Poetry Fishbowl.

Underlined prompts have been filled.

Row 1: 2 poems, 2 stories, 1 image set (World Walkers: Quiar, Schrodinger's Heroes, Torn World, Incredible Hulk, BBC Sherlock, His Dark Materials)
Row 2: 2 poems, 1 story (standalone, Hart's Farm, Schrodinger's Heroes, BBC Sherlock)
Row 3: 2 stories, 2 poems (Schrodinger's Heroes, Incredible Hulk, Smallville, Star Trek: The Original Series)
Row 4: 3 stories (Schrodinger's Heroes, BBC Sherlock, The Avengers)
Row 5: 4 poems, 1 story (P.I.E., Fledgling Grace, Schrodinger's Heroes, BBC Sherlock)

Poem: "Picking Up the Signals"

This poem fills another square on my card for the [Unknown LJ tag] fest.  It's actually the last one written for the second column, which hasn't officially reached "bingo" yet because two of the poems are unsponsored: "The Tapestry of Nocciolaia" in Fiorenza the Wisewoman ($10) and "Of Water and the Wheel" in Kung Fu Robots ($20).po

The following poem belongs to Schrodinger's Heroes, featuring an apocryphal television show supported by an imaginary fandom. It's science fiction about quantum physics and saving the world from alternate dimensions. It features a very mixed cast in terms of ethnicity and sexual orientation. This project developed with input from multiple people, and it's open for everyone to play in. You can read more about the background, the characters, and a bunch of assorted content on the menu page.

Fandom: Original (Schrodinger's Heroes)
Prompt: Pick-up line
Medium: Poetry
Summary: Quinn has a little something for everybody. It's just not always the same thing.
Content Notes: Quinn is genderqueer, and the rest of the characters have diverse sexual orientations. The descriptions are suggestive rather than explicit.

Poem: "Scarlett Bond"

This poem fills another square on my card for the [community profile] cottoncandy_bingo fest.  It may make more sense if you read "Getting a Room" first.

Fandom: Original (Schrodinger's Heroes)
Prompt: Wild Card: 307. Magical/Soul Bond

Content Notes: This is what amounts to an interspecies relationship.
