Poem: "Living on the Edges"

This poem was inspired by some wretched Valentine's Day cultural stuff, more crummy urban fantasy, and some considerably better conversations with readers about Brenda and the guys in her life.  It has been selected in an audience poll as the free epic for the April 2, 2013 Poetry Fishbowl reaching the $200 threshold.  This poem belongs to the series P.I.E, which you can explore further via the Serial Poetry page.

Warning: This poem contains examples of ableism, sexism, and crude language.  There's also a fairly wild sequence of wilderness adventure and some awkward cultural issues.  Consider your tastes and sensitivities before clicking through.

Heroism and Characterization

[personal profile] layla discusses appealing and unappealing traits in heroes.

No, you do not have to settle for a hero who acts like a dick.  You can have one who is actually worth spending time with. Same goes for a romantic partner.  They are not all dicks.  I don't enjoy reading about characters I wouldn't tolerate in person.  I rarely enjoy writing about them, unless I'm setting them up to be stuck with pins later.

New Poems Available

I have two new poems available for sale.  You can buy them whole, or microfund them at $.50/line.

"The Honeytrap" was inspired by "Infernal Passion" although it involves new characters. A succubus is attracted to a college girl only to discover that instead of sex, the passion is all about feminism and QUILTBAG rights.
139 lines, Buy It Now = $69.50 (Now in microfunding!)

Also, I'm trying to figure out if these fit into the Fledgling Grace series.

"Living on the Edges" belongs to the P.I.E. series.  Valentine's Day brings challenges for Brenda as three different guys attempt to get her attention.  But of course, romantic interludes are prone to interruption by supernatural mayhem ...
257 lines, Buy It Now = $128.50

Poem: "Ribbons for Her Beard"

This poem came out of the January 2013 Muse Fusion.  It is posted as the freebie for that session.  It was inspired by a poem and some stories from wyld_dandelyon about her characters Dini and Lalya.  Also, the title is correct and not a typo: Lalya has a male body but has recently been relicensed as female for the purpose of marrying Dini.

This poem has not yet been through the process of character permission or Canon Board approval
Character use approved b wyld_dandelyon.
