Thank Muse It's Friday

[personal profile] shiori_makiba is hosting "Thank Muse It's Friday" today, with a theme of "Love Is a Many Splendored Thing."  Come ask for romance, family affection, queerplatonic love, or whatever else your heart desires.  Let's spread out the diversity of loving connections in literature.

[personal profile] dialecticdreamer is writing a booster story for this.  Link to "Thank Muse It's Friday" and you'll add words to the Polychrome Heroics story "Daisy Chains," in which the social worker Matt Hudson brings a misplaced toddler to the Bluehill police station.  Despite the serious background topic, the story itself cottoncandy fluff.

Poem: "From Silica to Silk"

This poem was the linkback perk for the February 2, 2016 Poetry Fishbowl, originally posted by [personal profile] dialecticdreamer. It came out of the January 2016 Creative Jam. It was inspired by prompts from [personal profile] chanter_greenie, [personal profile] alexseanchai, and [personal profile] technoshaman. This poem belongs to the series Polychrome Heroics.

Warning: This poem is mostly positive, but contains some sensitive topics. Highlight to read the spoilery warnings. There is an unplanned pregnancy in a "friends with benefits" relationship, along with mild angst and surprise as the characters cope with it -- but they handle it really well. If these are issues for you, please consider your tastes and headspace before reading onward.

It belongs to the series Polychrome Heroics and is a companion poem to "All You Can Do Is Feel."

Note: This poem is all M/F sexyfuntimes. If that's not your cuppa tea, you can skip it without missing more than some background characterization and discussion of super sex lives.

Poem: "Wonderful in Its Own Way"

This is spillover from the February 2, 2016 Poetry Fishbowl. It was inspired by a prompt from LJ user Paantha. It also fills the "first kiss" square in my 1-23-16 card for the Valentine's Day Bingo fest. This poem has been sponsored by Anthony & Shirley Barrette. It belongs to the Antimatter & Stalwart Stan thread of the Polychrome Heroics series.

Warning: This poem contains some intense topics. Highlight to read the warnings, some of which are spoilers. It includes consensual romantic activity that abruptly goes awry due to nobody's fault, nonverbal revocation of consent and prompt halting of activity, a minor panic attack, sexual confusion, some very awkward conversation trying to figure out what's going on, and other challenges. They do make up quickly, but don't go back to kissing in this scene. If these are sensitive issues for you, please consider your tastes and headspace before reading onward.

Poem: "How People Always Get Close"

This poem is spillover from the February 2, 2016 Poetry Fishbowl. It was inspired by prompts from LJ user Paantha and Shirley Barrette. It also fills the "trusting" square in my 12-1-15 card for the Defining Character Bingo fest, and the "vampires" square in my 10-1-15 card for the Halloween / Samhain fest. This poem has been sponsored by Anthony & Shirley Barrette. It belongs to the series Frankenstein's Family.

Warning: Although the tone of this poem is largely sweet, it is also quite intense and contains some things that not everyone enjoys. Highlight to see the details, some of which are spoilers. Two sections explore relations between Igor and Victor, then Csilla with Dénes and Dorottya. There are messy medical details, radical trust, deep intimacy, emotional surrender, some internal and interpersonal angst, demisexual challenges, vampire feeding, and other interesting stuff. Please consider your tastes and headspace before reading onward.

Valentine's Day Bingo Cards

This year the Valentine's Day Bingo fest over in [community profile] allbingo is using 3x3 cards in several different categories. I have decided to play the Romantic and Platonic ones. The fest runs from February 1-29. People can make cards and start writing early, but posting doesn't begin until February 1. (See all my 2016 bingo cards.)

If you'd like to sponsor a particular square, especially if you have an idea for what character, series, or situation it would fit -- talk to me and we'll work something out. I've had a few requests for this and the results have been awesome so far. This is a good opportunity for those of you with favorites that don't always mesh well with the themes of my monthly projects. I may still post some of the fills for free, because I'm using this to attract new readers; but if it brings in money, that means I can do more of it. That's part of why I'm crossing some of the bingo prompts with other projects, such as the Poetry Fishbowl.

Underlined prompts have been filled.

All fills are linked on the claim post.
