Goals for 2010

Each year, I think about what I have accomplished and what I want to do next. These are some of my goals for 2010:

* Find new agent to replace the one that resigned from the agency. [missed]

* Place one new book-length project on the market, either by writing a book proposal or by writing a complete book manuscript. [missed]

* Experiment with self-publishing a poetry chapbook in ebook and/or home-printed format. [missed]

* Finish writing the poems needed to complete The 50 Poetic States collection. Keep shopping around the proposal for it in hopes of finding an editor who likes it and can afford to buy it. [missed]

* Write at least 250 poems. [MET]

* Continue holding one Poetry Fishbowl per month. [MET]

* Enter the Left Coast Eisteddfod Contest again. [missed]

* Sell poetry to at least 3 new markets. [Microcosms 5/3/10, Sci Fi Short Story 11/11/10] [missed]

* Write at least 3 stories. Take more care not to let fiction engine idle until things spurt out sideways at inopportune times.  Seriously practice writing fiction in bulk by routing it through Torn World. [1/16/10: "The Song of the Wind, the Sigh of the Willows" 2/9/10: "The Brightest Star in the Sky," "Pickled," "Odds and Ends"] [MET]

* Finish at least one story that was partly written and then abandoned. [missed]

* Edit at least 3 stories that have already been written, and put them on the market. [missed]

* Sell at least one story. [MET 1/3/10: "The Political Courtesan Strikes Back" to The Lorelei Signal and "Fala the Leader" to Torn World]

* Obtain at least one new, regular writing or editing job that pays reasonably well. [indeterminate: editing position under discussion with Diminuendo Press]

* Continue expanding my connections with intentional community; write at least one article for Communities  magazine. ["Balancing Powers" submitted 5/3/10, "Nurturing Healthy Minds" submitted 11/18/10] [MET]

* Establish an award recognizing excellence in cyberfunded creativity. [See Rose & Bay Award 2010 landing page.] [MET]

* Complete at least one significant outdoor project, such as reorganizing the blackberry patch or paving around the raspberry patch. [Partial reorganization of blackberry patch; planted blueberry bushes.] [MET]

* Improve my understanding of how the fancy digital camera works, so that I can learn to use more of its features. [MET]

* Fill in the blank: __________.  This slot is left open because, during any given year, I usually pick up some "surprise" goals.  This time I want to give myself credit for that. [Books-launch for From Nature's Patient Hands and Prismatica, built new PenUltimate Productions website] [MET]

That looks like a good list.
After reading that, I also looked over your knitting blog, which is equally cool.
I am glad you like the knitblog! With knitting, I feel as if I've finally found my Right Hobby. I've tried so many artsy endeavours over the years, and enjoyed most of them... but fiber arts really call to me in a way that the others never really did.
That's good to hear. I have lots of crafts that I enjoy dabbling in.
