Holiday Activities

Yesterday I cleaned most of the scrapbooking mess off the table, laid out and cut the pieces for a reversible vest that I'm making for my partner's birthday (not a surprise, since he'll see me sewing it together).  I also got some work done on some stuff that I'm doing for Poetry Fishbowl donors.  Some of the donor gifts are already done, others still in progress.  The proof pages for the nature poetry collection have also been read and sent back to the publisher, yay!  So while I still have mountains of stuff to do, I'm gradually finishing some projects.

Today we're going to visit some relatives for Christmas dinner.  Not my holiday, but I can be flexible; I got my Yule celebration.

Merry Christmas to those of you celebrating it.  The rest of you, fill in the blanks with whatever winter holiday you prefer.  You folks help make my life shiny.

Merry Christmas to you as well!

Even though I identify more towards eclectic pagan, I still celebrate Christmas, and consider it my favorite holiday. Go figure. Really, I have an appreciation for the message of love, for the mythology involved (it really is quite a touching story), for the sense of family and togetherness that the season encourages.

Thank you for providing encouragement.

Current project is working on donor gifts for the Poetry Fishbowl donors. I mailed the first batch of stuff today, yay!

When creative people I admire give me goodies, I am filled with squee. This is my chance to share some squee with people who enjoy my writing. That's the emotional side of this. The practical side is that I practice what I preach in terms of good business sense: happy customers are repeat customers. So the donors get perks, because I want to show people in a concrete fashion that I really appreciate their support.
