Call for Good News

I often blog a lot about intense and controversial topics, because part of my responsibility includes spreading information. Too much of that can lead to burnout, though, both for readers and for bloggers.

So, I'm making an effort to increase the amount of positive, noncontroversial news. What "good news" have you heard recently? In what ways is the world becoming a better place? What cool discoveries or inventions have people made? Please share links or stories in the comments below. Remember, "Energy flows where attention goes." Let's send it somewhere good!

Hurrah! I read an article that said respected physicists were considering whether or not the Higgs Bosun particle was deliberately going back in time to foil the correct workings of the LHC because it knew that the entire universe would blow up. Or something like that :)

I could see the Higgs Bosun attitude being used to cover all manner of incompetence.
Well, there's something to be said for not blowing up the universe you're standing on.
What I'm looking for is, when they do finally see sign of the Higgs Boson, that the other particle trails will be stretched out farther than expected, which should line up with energy going in more dimensional paths than the few we experience physically.
I'm glad they got it going.
