Fallen Treasure

Today I was outside and saw the leaves falling, yellow leaves caught on the trunk of a dark tree, so pretty in the afternoon light. I didn't have time to take a picture, but it was an eye-catching scene.

Yes! Yes, right now there are so many gold coins scattered everywhere--we're all richer than the kings of men just looking at them.
I stopped and stared at that scene for a while, absorbing the energy from the rich colors.
One thing I've noticed around here is leaves falling on newer sidewalks (IE, they're still almost white), decomposing a little bit, being swept away, and leaving a leaf-shaped stain on the sidewalk. :-)
I like that. I am also enamored of leaf-fossils left behind when leaves fall (or are purposely arranged) into smooth wet concrete.
Here in New Jersey, I think Fall is the most beautiful time of year :)
I have long heard that the East Coast has epic fall color worthy of a special tourist trip. I think it would be fun to visit there in the fall some year.
Colors so rich you can drink them, breathe them, and bathe in them.
