Stand Up to the Banksters

I was pleased by this call to action. Nobody elected the people who are running the banks (into the ground). They have too much power. They're abusing it. They're doing a bad job; the economy is in ruins. Now these aren't the only people to blame for this grade-A chrome-plated multi-user reproductive activity, but they are certainly some of the people who helped install the chrome plating. I don't think they should be exempt from American citizens' right to "petition for a redress of grievances." Hopefully they'll listen while people are still waving signs instead of torches and pitchforks.

The big corporate banks and Wall Street institutions that took our economy
to the brink of collapse are coming to Chicago.

Join thousands of others who are fed up in a protest of the banksters at
the upcoming American Banking Association convention. For more
information, go to

After taking our trillion-dollar taxpayer bailout, these big banks have
been doling out huge executive bonuses, raking in profits and spending
millions to defeat reforms that would crack down on their risky and
predatory practices.

Enough is enough - it's time to take our demands for more accountability
to the streets.

What: SHOWDOWN IN CHICAGO: March on the Bankers Convention to Put People

Where: Chicago, Illinois. The march will start at the intersection of
Stetson and Wacker, cross the Chicago River and end with a rally at the
Bankers Convention at the Sheraton Hotel (301 East North Water Street,

When: Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 10:30 a.m.

Executives from the nation's biggest banks will be there. We need to show
them that we won't back down until there is more oversight, transparency
and accountability in the banking industry. The more people who protest in
Chicago, the more attention we'll get in Washington for commonsense

Be a Public Citizen! Bring your homemade signs, and let us know what
slogans and sentiments you'll put on your sign. Can't make it? You can
still take action here

Thank you for all you do!
