Put a Bounty on Diseases

I see that the pathetic state of American health care has inspired some other folks to think along similar lines to something I suggested earlier.

Yes. But it is much more fun for TPTB to put a bounty on the uninsured.

When are they going to come right out and admit that they (TPTB) are sweeping us towards a slave society?
I'm getting disgusted with the whole "reform" process. The politicians are just dicking around, not delivering anything remotely workable or that any sensible person would want. Fining people for being too poor to afford health insurance is an abomination.

If they admitted it, people would revolt and kill them. And if they don't stop it, and do a better job of meeting the public's needs, that's likely to happen anyway according to historical precedent.
Those who do not study history are doomed to repeat it.

I hate being such a pessimist about our society, but I am seeing too many markers that resemble what has occured before every revolution going back to when Ugh wouldn't listen to Arg's concerns about the distribution of the proceeds from the hunt.

Too true. I have read much history, including books written by the losers. It makes an unsettling combination with the news. At least I have a few friends who nod grimly when someone talks about reality TV and I mutter "Bread and circuses."

Afghanistan = "Grog have new club."
Great idea!
