10 Tips for a Healthy Diet

Here is a good article about making healthy food choices. (This is not the kind of diet aimed at weight loss.) Sadly, some of these steps are very difficult to achieve with America's erratic food supply.

Very interesting... though I'm not entirely in agreement with the "eat more calcium foods" advice without "eat more magnesium foods." You can't do one or the other; you need both or you get none of the benefits. And very few of the foods in the typical diet are magnesium-rich, while calcium has been added to just about everything, including orange juice. o_O
That's very true, and potassium also.

They have to be kept in balance with each other.

When I was in hospital last year I had to have blood tests every day to measure the balance between them. Thankfully I am stable enough now to only need testing monthly.
*nods* People with depleted adrenals need less potassium and more sodium--low sodium diets are very bad for them.

It's more complicated than people make it out to be, eating correctly for yourself. :,
Yes, it is true Elizabeth. Some of these can be challenging to follow but if people would take a little extra time to evaluate what they are doing when it comes to consumption they could greatly improve their well being, reduce their risk of chronic degenerative disease and fell better than they have in years. Not to mention that parents would be doing their children a boatload of good by employing these strategies.
I read online today, while doing research for one of my novels, that 6000 steps a day significantly reduces risk of death, and 8000-10,000 a day promotes weight loss. And that "Sedentary people in the USA generally move only 2000-3000 steps a day." 2000 steps is about a mile. So one would have to walk the equivalent of 4 miles a day to promote weight loss.
I didn't realize what a healthy person I am, I follow all of those! Sweet. Although a bit disappointing because I couldn't learn any more tips, doh.
