Politics and Civilization

I recently finished a three-part Course for the Grey School of Wizardry, "Kherishdar Civilization," which incorporates "The Aphorisms of Kherishdar" series by M.C.A. Hogarth. It uses science fiction stories to teach students about sociology, politics, community, and self-awareness.

So I was rather intrigued by this article about "the politics of civilization." It discusses what civilization means, where (global and French) society is going, and where it should be going. The conclusion is that we're not doing a very good job of creating a world in which a happy, productive life is reasonably achievable for most people.

Maybe the kids I'm teaching today will do better in tomorrow's world.
