Zero Waste

I'm encouraged by this community's profound effort to avoid filling landfills. At all.

Elderly Turn Town into Zero Waste Community
Japan's rapidly aging population is leading the way in one town to create a zero-waste community, recycling everything, including
valuable gold from old phones. In this town there is no trash collection and no landfill, just people sorting their own trash
into 34 categories and dropping it off at the local recycling facility.

I offered to take my dad's magazines to the library book sale for donation. He decided to donate them to his doctor's waiting-room instead. He's also got his girlfriend taking his plastic bags to the local thrift store for re-use. Small steps can make a big difference.
Those sound like great ideas.

Also, I love your filk icon. I once wrote an article, "Dandelion Music," about folk music.
Thanks! I got it from redaxe, iirc; provenance should be in the credits.

Is your article online anywhere? I'd be interested in reading it.
