See the Perseids!

This year's meteor shower is expected to be good, aside from the light shed by a waning moon. If you have kids old enough to stay up past midnight on special occasions (or heck, toddlers who wake up in the middle of the night) take them outside for a bit and watch for meteors.

Heh. I've been contemplating whether or not the view from the fire-escape will be tolerable. Otherwise, the top is off the jeep - I could drive up the coast a ways. :) Either way, I look forward to this every year.
Now I wish the light pollution wasn't so bad here. [I can't even see Sirus!]

Oh..and watch out for any strange looking plants growing afterwards...
