"We Didn't Start the Flame War"

This song is crude and NSFW. It is also hilarious if you are amused by vulgar yet ruthlessly accurate internet humor. Some of the graphics are quite good, too.

Apparently, I am mega amused by vulgar yet ruthlessly accurate internet humor.
That was actually very well done.

And I *was* amused by vulgar yet ruthlessly accurate internet humor. ;)
It's hilarious! :D
Usually, I find collegehumour rather stupid. THAT was brilliant. I'm impressed b/c they managed to do make the song work without rhyming at all. lol

Also, it's TOO FRICKIN TRUE!!! Esp for us old-timers who have been around too many online communities since 1996 or sooner... WHO REMEMBERS WINDOWS 95 WITH ME!! :D <3 DOS <3
Yea, verily! I first encountered online communities in the late 1980's -- University High School had a PLATO lab. I wasn't very impressed.

Then in the early 1990's I got into Usenet and email lists. Some of those were very worthwhile, others just a nest of flames and angst.

I quickly began to study what made the best groups work, and started sharing a set of suggested parameters when a new group would form. That list has grown and refined over time. I'm pleased to see other people paying attention to what makes for a pleasant and useful online venue, too. So while there are still plenty of places online where that song totally nails the atmosphere, there are also other options for those of us who find flamewars tedious.
Yeah, you learn to spot certain things and move on. Kinda like inspecting produce, checking seals on yogurt containers, and cartons of eggs before buying. :) An ounce of prevention...
