Today I received a copy of Llewellyn's 2008 Witches' Companion with my articles "Granola Wicca: Religion for Fruits, Nuts, and Flakes" and "Magical Perceptions." I am especially delighted with Tim Foley's hilarious woodcut-style illustrations of "Granola Wicca." That article is an irreverent look at the laughable side of Paganism. "Magical Perceptions" is more serious, listing some of the subtle senses and exercises for improving your fluency with them. The Companion is a wonderful resource for Pagans at any level of experience, but I think it's most valuable to intermediate practitioners who are deepening their craft. Sections include "Community Forum," "Witchy Living," "Witchcraft Essentials," "Magical Transformations," and a lunar calendar in the back. Favorite authors include Lupa, Raven Digitalis, Susan "Moonwriter" Peznecker, Ellen Dugan, and Lisa McSherry.

I also received The Blessed Bee #32 with my article "Teaching the Love of Words." This short little piece offers tips for parents (or grandparents) who want to teach their kids to love reading and storytelling. This is the final issue of the magazine, though. It's been fun.
