Poem: "Empty Like a Bowl"

This was the perk poem for the April 6, 2021 Poetry Fishbowl, originally hosted by [personal profile] dialecticdreamer. It fills the "Acacia (blossom) - Chaste Love" square in my 2-1-21 "The Language of Flowers" card for the Valentines Bingo fest.

"Empty Like a Bowl"

A sexless life is empty
like a bowl.

That gives the freedom
to fill it with anything.

A bowl can be filled with
a pyramid of delicious fruit or
hot soup topped with crackers.

It can be filled with knickknacks
like mirror balls or pinecones,
pretty rocks or seashells or gourds.

It can be filled with paint or
with soap and water.

It can be filled with
postcards and pens.

It can even be left empty
and rubbed with a wooden rod
until it begins to sing.

That which is empty is
filled with limitless potential.
