Poem: "Glow in the Dark"
This is the freebie for the
crowdfunding Creative Jam, inspired by
nsfwords.
"Glow in the Dark"
It comes in countless manifestations --
stars stuck to a ceiling, pencils
and erasers, costume jewelry,
figurines of dragons and unicorns,
spraypaint of graffiti that only shows
at night, safety wear for joggers,
T-shirts that mean one thing
in daylight and another in the dark.
Sometimes, in the half-light,
you can see two things at once:
the pink surface of the plastic
and the yellow-green glow
emanating from within it.
Glow in the dark things
remind us that everything
is context and perspective.
There is no "is," only "seems."
