Good News

Good news includes all the things which make us happy or otherwise feel good. It can be personal or public. We never know when something wonderful will happen, and when it does, most people want to share it with someone. It's disappointing when nobody is there to appreciate it. Happily, blogging allows us to share our joys and pat each other on the back.

What good news have you had recently? Are you anticipating any more? Have you found a cute picture or a video that makes you smile? Is there anything your online friends could do to make your life a little happier?

Some very good news! I'm still untested but 99% sure I had the mildest noticeable form of COVID-19--about a dozen coughs altogether, but a peculiar *kind* of cough. Would have got it in the store where the tourists were raving about how nice it was to be in our virus-free small town. (One man whose grandchildren came in from New Jersey had it but he self-quarantined, so it hadn't spread.) The young cashier had been told that it's "friendly" to press coins into people's hands, and was the common contact point for just a few people who went into quarantine and many more who didn't want to bother.

When I came out of quarantine some of those people, the family that owned *that* store, were laughing about the little cough they had and the "crazy panic" of those who did quarantine.

A cousin I call Yona, online, had delivered groceries while I was in quarantine, and even offered to take me to stores in his car, because he was Not Afraid. He works for *that* store as a deliveryman and mechanic. He's about 60 and can out-work any of those young cashiers any day. He had a heart attack a few years ago.

So after I was out of quarantine I saw him in town, saying the kind of thing the Covidiot says in my Covidiot Rap post. The next day he was in the hospital.

Wednesday before Thanksgiving, he was out. Now he's back at work.

I'm *so* glad and *so* thankful...and I hope this true story helps people further west as the virus reaches their towns too.
