Good News

Good news includes all the things which make us happy or otherwise feel good. It can be personal or public. We never know when something wonderful will happen, and when it does, most people want to share it with someone. It's disappointing when nobody is there to appreciate it. Happily, blogging allows us to share our joys and pat each other on the back.

What good news have you had recently? Are you anticipating any more? Have you found a cute picture or a video that makes you smile? Is there anything your online friends could do to make your life a little happier?

I have a lot of good news actually.
For starters, I'm done with the long list of house maintenance/repair projects that I knew needed to be done before winter arrived this year. (These are the chores that I had to hire professionals to do.)
Here they are:
I had the crawlspace of our house lined and waterproofed.
Two sump pumps were installed in the crawlspace.
I hired an electrician to do the wiring for the sump pumps, install a reset button, and then hook it up into the breaker panel.
I had some plumbing repair done in the crawlspace after the fellow who'd lined the crawlspace told me about the problem and showed me pictures.
I hired a contractor to build us a new sewer line to replace our non-functional septic tank/septic field. (The bill for this alone was 10K.)
And I just got a fellow in to replace/repair our dryer ductwork. (It was a nasty job. The poor guy had to crawl around in our crawlspace to do the repairs and replacement, so it wasn't a quick repair. He also put a cap on the exhaust opening so that rodents couldn't use it to get into the walls of our house.)

My own fall chores are well begun: A kitchen deep-clean.
I've finished cleaning out three of the four wall cabinets and I washed and replaced all the dishes that were in them.

Our late summer drought has finally broken. We had a weather system figure out where we are and it arrived at sunset yesterday and it's still raining.
:^)

Go you!

It's raining here too, has been for a couple days. The first was just drizzle, but tonight it really stormed for a few hours. :D
We had showers and heavy rain arrive steadily most of last night. It was still raining whenever I finally went to bed (for the second time) at four am.
:^)
