Who Owns the News?

This article details how Monsanto used its wealth to falsify information on Fox News and to intimidate reporters. In this particular incident, the questionable product was milk from cows dosed with hormones implicated in human health problems.

I am deeply suspicious of Monsanto, and angry about the many things the company has done to harm people and the planet. They're utterly ruthless and very dangerous.
This is purely anecdotal, and we all know correlation does not equal causation, but: I had a monstrous attack of colitis when I was in college and subsequently had a miserable time drinking any milk at all-- until I was introduced to organic milk after it became popular enough to start appearing in groceries out here in the sticks. I can drink organic milk all day long... but the regular kind gives me the ick.
There are so many pollutants in the food, water, and atmosphere these days that it's almost impossible to narrow down a specific culprit for a specific complaint. What is documented is a rapid rise in problems triggered by aggregate effect, such as multiple chemical sensitivity.

Something I've noticed is a huge rise in allergies to basic food items such as milk and wheat. That's not a trivial issue. Something that used to be rare is now ubiquitous. A rise this big, with such severity for some sufferers, is not readily explained by greater awareness. So we've either done something bad to our bodies, or we've done something bad to our food, or both. We know for sure there have been changes in the way the food is produced, and some changes in the food, including such things as hormones and antibiotics in cows that get into the milk (plus the pus from diseased cows), and ever-more-toxic pesticides and herbicides sprayed on fields (plus genetically engineered crops). While that's not proof of connection, it does raise a big red flag reading "likely trouble, investigate yesterday!"

I'm particularly disturbed by big businesses bribing or blackmailing the government to create labeling standards that force consumers to buy products that few people would buy willingly, by denying them information distinguishing between the types and processes.
