Birdfeeding

Today is sunny and warm.

I fed the birds.

I picked up sticks in the ritual meadow.

My yard is crawling  with insects.  Every step, swarms of things hop or skitter to get out of the way.  Most seem to be tiny crickets or grasshoppers.  The rest of the world may have lost 30-80% of its insects, and I've seen declines of individual species, but my yard is still teeming with bugmass.  I have bats swooping overhead at night to feast on flying things.  \o/  Nowadays, that is an accomplishment.

EDIT 8/17/20 -- I picked up sticks in the savanna.

The gladiolus is blooming deep pink with white centers, very pretty.  :D

At least a couple of great horned owl fledglings are shrieking for attention.  I saw one of them perched on the telephone pole for a little while.  <3 owls.
