We picked up two big piles of grass and carted them to the grass wall.
EDIT 8/13/20 -- We burned off the firepit. It was quite sluggish due to damp, but there's a chance of rain tonight so we didn't want to wait and risk it getting soaked again. At least the size of the pile is greatly reduced. The stubs left behind can later be raked into the center and form the core of the next pile. Progress.
