I fed the birds. I refilled the hopper feeder and the roofed suet feeder. There have been many birds bathing in the spillway today, sometimes four or five at a time. :D I've seen red-winged blackbirds, Brewer's blackbirds, and common grackles along with robins.
I started yardwork in the savanna, cutting brush around the wild cherry grove.
EDIT 4/7/20: Round Two, I cut more brush around the wild cherry grove.
EDIT 4/7/20: Round Three, I cut more brush around the wild cherry grove.
EDIT 4/7/20: Round Four, I cut more brush around the wild cherry grove. That clears the southern edge.
EDIT 4/7/20: Round Five, I cut more brush around the wild cherry grove. That clears the western edge and part of the north.
As it is getting dark, I am done for today. Yay. Yay.
WE HAVE BATS! :D 3q3q3q!! We've had some before, but haven't seen them in several seasons. I saw at least one, possibly two. They are quite large for this part of the world, so I suspect they are big brown bats. Most Illinois bats are small, and all of them eat copious quantities of insects. Stay in my nice yard, bats, and eat up the bugs!
