Male Victims of Sex Crimes

... are often explicitly excluded.  This discussion of male victims of sexual violence among the Rohingya is graphic and disturbing.

While mass sexual assault is a common war crime aimed against females, it can happen to males too. The motivations sometimes overlap (e.g. genocide via sexual injuries) but also diverge (e.g. treating women as sexual objects because that is how many cultures view them vs. objectifying men to 'unman' them).  In any case, the shortage of care for female victims is vastly exceeded by the shortage of care to male victims; females get little, but males often get none at all.
