Here are the location notes for "Celebrate and Cherish."
In Terramagne-America, Robert Allerton kept his family holdings until his death in 1964. Much of the land went to Urbanburg University. Some went to a 4-H camp. Another significant portion went to the Allerton Circle School, which he had founded in 1960 -- one of the earliest schools in the Circle System. Part of the trust farms near the school have been designated for school use, and some can be leased by graduates. In local-America, stories abound of Robert being a nudist and a Pagan; in T-America, he was known as both.
Other Pagans active at the time included Gerald Gardner in Wicca and Tim Zell (later Oberon Zell-Ravenheart) in the Church of All Worlds.
This map of the Sangamon River shows Allerton Park. Allerton Circle School is conveniently placed equidistant between two small cities, about half an hour away from Urbanburg and Decatur. Here you can see a trail map of Allerton Park.
Attractions include the visitor center, trails, Fu Dog Garden, formal gardens, formal gardens and Sunken Garden, the Sunken Garden, steps, The Death of the Last Centaur statue, The Sun Singer statue, and the Sangamon River.

Sadly I couldn't find a good map of all the old Allerton holdings. However, there is a somewhat serviceable map on page 4 of the deer management report showing different divisions, and I found a property sale map that shows the parks and the roads. The school grounds are bounded by County Road 1400 N to the north, Allerton Park and Open Circle Organic Farm to the east, 1300 N and Open Circle Organic Farm to the south, and 300 E to the west. The Sangamon River and Wolf Run flow through the grounds. Lake Mac Lir lies near the main cluster of class buildings in the northeast corner of the grounds. Blue Heron Lake lies near the center of the grounds, at the end of Blue Heron Lane off 300 E, with another cluster of buildings including the lodge. Several clusters of housing for faculty and live-in parents lie along 300 E and its spur Blue Heron Lane. Other buildings are scattered around. South of the Sangamon River lies a larger pond, Oshun's Mirror; a smaller one, Blackbird Marsh; and various others mostly hidden in the woods. The schools grounds span about 560 acres.
In T-America, the Open Circle Organic Farm currently spans about 500 acres. It has been acquired in pieces over several decades as adjacent land became available, starting in the forested areas to the north and progressing mostly south through open fields. It was founded in 1964 by a group of graduates from Allerton Circle School, the first class who attended the whole of high school there. They took the name Wilby, and many of the later arrivals have done the same. Their first children were born in the mid-60s, grandchildren in the mid-80s, and great-grandchildren in the early 2000s. Some of their descendants still teach at the school, and many of their children attend it. This farm provides much of the food for the school, too.
County Road 425 E runs through the farm, and it bumps against County Road 1300 N to the north, the southern border of Allerton Circle School grounds. Toward the top you can see the sustainable forest and food forest areas of Gaia's Grove. Smaller pastures amongst the trees hold sheep, goats, and pigs with the poultry kept closer to the houses. Just below the forest on the left is the Epona Horse Farm, with green pastures and several bright red barns around a farmhouse. In the upper middle is a cluster of white buildings including several houses and barns that make up the intentional community Howland. Toward the upper right, the light green fields and the cluster of white buildings belong to the Damona Dairy. Along the bottom, the brown fields are cropland.

adds up to 793 acres
The first purchase in 1964 was Howland (about 40 acres) plus a pasture and forest north of it (about 20 acres each) for a total of 80 acres. The Kalyx Center for Sustainability is in this area. Next came another pasture block with a little forest west of the existing pasture (about 40 acres). After that, they bought a small parcel of forest north of the pastures to the Sangamon River and Allerton Park, and then the lake parcel (including Saga Pond) west of the pastures adjoining the southern edge of the school. Next they acquired Epona Horse Farm to the southwest of Howland, which includes the Hyppolyta Ponds (Upper and Lower); then Damona Dairy to the southeast of Howland, which includes the lake Hathor's Heart. Then they bought the lower left quadrant south of Epona, followed by the lower right quadrant south of Damona. The sale parcel south of Howland, between Epona and Damona, came last.
The individual farms are almost all smaller than the average, although the collective as a whole is considerably bigger. This is one square mile (640 acres).

Allerton Circle School
About 30% of Circle School students go on to outdoor careers such as landscaping, farming, permaculture design, or park service. Around 15% become scholars of such topics as astronomy, mythology, or ancient languages. About 10% of students go on to a career in the performing arts or related fields including music, dance, theater, teaching, or organizing such events. Another 10% go into either a Pagan profession (like running a magical supply store) or interfaith work.
Round buildings come in various sizes. One set of standard models ranges from 4-meter external diameter with 12 square meters inside to 7 meters external and 38 square meters inside.
The front office occupies a small round building near the main entrance from County Road 1400 N. It serves the everyday school functions with desks, printers, a half-circle couch and table. The main administrative offices are in the lodge on Blue Heron Lane.
The Mooncoin School Store offers many supplies. On the left you can glimpse the cash register and checkout counter. There are candles, hoodoo materials, altar tools, Pagan books, stones and incense, statues, general school supplies, Montessori materials, Waldorf toys, Pagan toys for Imbolc and Ostara. It also has a ritual room, public bathroom, laundry room, and sun porch.
On the second floor it has living space for staff including a kitchen, dining room, living room, and bathroom. This is the blue bedroom. Another bedroom has a musical theme and many books. On the third floor is the master bedroom and its bathroom, along with a sitting room.
This birdfeeding station is just outside the sun porch in the back yard.
The nurse's office stands near the front office in a similar building. It offers a Healthy Touch program, as well as first aid available in conventional and several alternative styles.

Upcycling is one of the subjects customarily taught at Circle Schools but rarely found in conventional ones. Because Pagan traditions view everything in circles and cycles, they consider upcycling an essential life skill. Some people do it better than others, but everyone needs to know the basics like how to make an organizer from jars or how to turn old clothes into rags.

In addition to the mainstream band instruments, Circle Schools teach a variety of instruments popular in contemporary Pagan culture including 6-stringed and 12-stringed guitar, lute, lap harp, doumbek, and bodhran. Modules for individual faiths may include additional instruments particular to their tradition, such as the oxhorn in Asatru. Voice training includes individual and choral singing. All students receive a basic education in how to perform and appreciate music. Those with particular interest and/or aptitude may choose to devote more time to musical study and take advanced lessons. This makes it a great option for musically gifted people who don't want to spend all day cooped in a room learning music written by dead composers. About 10% of students go on to a career in the performing arts or related fields including music, dance, theater, teaching, or organizing such events.

In Circle Schools, many classes are holistic, making them much more interdisciplinary than conventional classes. A class on permaculture may span ecology, botany, horticulture, zoology, geology, meteorology, and geometry.
Allerton Circle School Class in Permaculture
Among the advanced math classes is one on Stone Circles, which includes the physics of building them and the geometry of using them. Nobody gets bored in this math class -- and successful graduates come out of it with a stonemoving certificate that can lead directly to a job in landscaping. Graduates also have the option of going to a construction training center for an internship (at 16+ with parental permission, like for a car) in light construction equipment (wheel loader, backhoe, motor grader, etc.) or an apprenticeship (18+) as a heavy equipment operator (cranes, bulldozers, forklifts, etc.). About 25% of Circle School students go on to outdoor careers such as landscaping, farming, permaculture design, or park service.
In T-America, the terms are better and the training goes a little faster. It doesn't take long to earn a certificate for using one piece of light equipment, although an internship for light equipment operator takes about 6 months in most places. Working on the apprenticeship program full-time, 4,000 hours is 100 weeks or 2 years allowing for vacation time. The class time adds about another 8 weeks, typically split into a 4-week introductory session followed by workshops scattered throughout. Heavy equipment operator is a skilled manual job with a very respectable pay rate.

The Local 49 Apprenticeship Program is a 4,000 hour program usually completed in 3 years. Along with the 4000 hours of on-the-job training you must also attend 288 hours of related training at the Training Center. The apprentice benefits not only from the training but also receives a fair wage as their skills increase along with a both an unbeatable Health & Welfare package and a pension plan that starts building immediately.
“Heavy Equipment” describes many types of machines used on a construction site, including cranes, bulldozers, forklifts, haul trucks, rollers, skid steers, motor grader, scrapers, front-end loaders and paving equipment.
