Interesting fact: the last language in the list, Ket, spoken near the Yenisei River in Siberia, has very recently been shown to be distantly related to the Athabaskan languages of North America (such as Navajo). This was the first time any Native American language family has been connected to a language of the Old World. The time-depth of their separation is so tremendously long that they are not mutually intelligible, but an Alaskan scholar who had studied the history of both language groups was able to spot the almost-vanished correlations. So that's another reason to preserve languages: they hold history in their words.
