Earthquake Warning App

California has released an app to warn people of impending earthquakes.  Deep vibrations precede surface ones by a few seconds.  Figure about 20 seconds in many areas -- enough time to dive under earthquake-resistant furniture if you have some, and certainly time to shut off a stove.
