Feathering the Nest

[personal profile] dialecticdreamer is hosting Feathering the Nest today, focused on nonsexual intimacies. Leave prompts, get ficlets!

In November, most people are very busy with holiday preparations, and in America, Thursday is theThanksgiving holiday. Not everyone has family they want to spend time with, so I’m perfectly willing to write food-themed stories (especially if the prompter supplies a recipe!) as a better alternative. Especially for introverts or ambiverts, big holidays can be more stress than success, so please, ask for what you want to indulge in while you read!

The second way to boost the signal, which is an additional choice, not an either/or situation, is to donate something in the local food bank collection bins that populate odd corners of the grocery, Wal-Mart, schools, and so on
.

Regrettably the only one I've seen here was for the Salvation Army, which I no longer support due to its homophobic tendencies. :/ But hopefully I'll find something else; I'm watching.

For this prompt call, the bonus story is called “Thanksgiving Guests,” and while it begins with a question from Genna, about Hatter, it becomes something much different. Plot! Excitement! Teachable moments written across a community! Best of all, stronger friendships develop. It’s clearly part of the Strange Family, but I couldn’t bear to call it either “Strange Thanksgiving” or “Strange Guests.”
