It's a beautiful fall day, cold and crisp. We had another hard frost last night. The petunias haven't quite given up the ghost yet, but almost everything else has. The ground is covered in fallen leaves now, crunchy underfoot. Most of them are dull olive, though, as the trees never put on their fall coats. There are a few lazy yellows from the maples, and the serviceberry did turn purple, but that's about it.
I fed the birds. There are more of them out today, dark-eyed juncoes scavenging on the ground and cardinals chasing each other above in streaks of scarlet.
I also picked up more of the pots and moved them to the porch.
