Light Exercise Counts

This is the first study I've seen that looked at levels of exercise with an eye toward light exercise, rather than urging people to get vigorous exercise.  More is better, but substantial results emerge from light exercise.  This is good news for people who can't, for whatever reason, do long or rigorous workouts.  Get up, stretch out, walk around a bit.  Get up and do one housework thing.  Go out and do a yardwork thing.  Move from sitting indoors to sitting outdoors.  It all counts!

Me, I would shred my body if I tried to do typical exercise routines.  But I can go stretch when I start getting stiff, and I can manage several 10-20 minute rounds of yardwork if I have lots of stuff to do outside, on a clement day.
