Monday Yardening

Today is sunny and slightly cool.

I planted 10 narcissus around the oak tree beside the driveway, which finishes that ring.

I saw a blue jay at the hopper feeder.  I need to refill the feeders when I go back outside later.

EDIT 10/7/19 -- We went out to decide where to mow a patch for planting narcissus in the prairie garden.  The bluestem is starting to fall over.  We saw a toad, surprising in this dry weather.

I fed the birds.  More blue jays are flying around.  I've seen them and other birds drinking from the water bowl today.  I'm happy that they like it.  They don't like raised waterers the way they're "supposed" to, but will drink out of things they're not supposed to like.  Whatever.  I'll give the birds what they want.  I'm not surprised to be attracting feathery little freaks to my yard.

I planted 5 narcissus around one of the saplings in the savanna.

EDIT 10/7/19 -- I planted 5 narcissus around another sapling in the savanna.

EDIT 10/7/19 -- I planted 5 narcissus around another sapling in the savanna.  That's 25 for today, plus the previous 50, for a total of 75/150 narcissus bulbs.
