Torrential Rain

 ... is increasing in frequency and severity due to climate change.  Basically, everything is getting more extreme and less moderate.  This not only increases danger and damage, it worsens drought because all the water comes at once and runs off instead of soaking in slowly and staying.  To cope with this, people need to build water-handling systems that can contain massive amounts of water and route it to places where it can be stored safely for later use.
