Question for you: Do you think a person who is incapable of feeling love but goes through the motions of romance for someone they're fond of is aromantic or not? I ask because the person in question is a character of mine.
Orientation is about feeling, not action. An aromantic person does not have romantic feelings. They might do romance for some other reason, just as an asexual person might have sex for reasons other than lust. Most aromantic people don't choose to be in romantic relationships, but some do. Mixed-orientation relationships can be very challenging, but they're not impossible.
Thanks!
