Community Building Tip: Block Directory

In today's fragmented world, people can improve it by reaching out to each other. Here are some ideas for building community in your neighborhood.

Create a block directory. If you don’t yet know your neighbors, this is the perfect way to get started. It doesn’t need to be fancy. Just drop off a sign-up sheet in everyone’s mailbox and, once they return it to you, you can email the final version to everyone.

If you don't live on a block, you can get similar results by networking any other group of people.  It works great in apartments.  It can be made to work in more scattered groups such as a church congregation, but travel is a bit more of a challenge.  If you're not in walking distance, try to include transportation info like bus routes or a list of folks who want to carpool.
