Woodpeckers!

Birds are swarming my hopper feeder today.  :D  There are lots of sparrows and dark-eyed juncos, along with some mourning doves.  I saw a red-bellied woodpecker.  Then I saw a pair  of downy woodpeckers!  I don't think I've ever seen a pair before.  Both sexes are deckled black-and-white, and males have a red spot on the head.  \o/

I haven't put up nestboxes for anything. We have trees. We have owls already. Currently great-horned owls. Used to be barn owls, and I'd love to have them back, but no way are they coming around here with great-horned owls holding the territory.

Do you think you'll get any snow this weekend?
I begin to think we've got a blizzard heading our way considering the way my bones have ached today.
All I wanted to do today was "nest" and cook!
