Amancia Reid -- She has café au lait skin, brown eyes, and coily auburn hair just to her shoulders. She wears glasses. She is Jamaican-American; her heritage includes Spanish, African, and British. She speaks English, Jamaican Patois, and Spanish. Amancia's family moved to Florida when she was a tween. She hated the heat, though, and wanted to live somewhere cooler.
So Amancia moved to Rain City where she attended the University of Washington in Seattle. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Welfare with a minor in Education, Learning & Society. She also completed the Be REAL: Resilient Attitudes and Living program at the Center for Child and Family Well-Being. After that, Amancia took a break year from school, volunteering at different places in Santa Cruz, California and earning a Certificate in Advanced Trauma-Informed Care. Among those was FosterShare, a residential program for adults 18-27 recently aged out of the foster care system, which provided its volunteers with room and board. That inspired her to work with people aging out of foster care; she wanted to help them build better lifes. Next Amancia went back for a Master's Degree in Teaching for Home Economics in high school, with a Graduate Certificate in Maternal and Child Health. She also participated in programs for Addressing Disadvantage and Adversity; Adolescent Risk and Resilience; Mindful Living and Practice; Social, Emotional, and Cognitive Competence.
Amancia is married with an older son, a daughter, and a younger son. She is idemromantic, not distinguishing between platonic and romantic attraction. For her, it's all about the depth of connection to another person, not about the details of expression. She is flexisexual, tending to reflect the orientation of her current partner. Currently Amancia lives in Rain City with her family. She teaches Homemade Families and other programs for people 18-27 recently aged out of foster care. Amancia is enormously popular in this role, and maintains contact with many of her graduates and their families.

Idemromantic - Is someone who does not internally experience romantic and platonic attraction differently; they distinguish between romantic and platonic based on other factors. "Idem" means "the same" in Latin.
Idemromantic people categorize their interest in others as romantic instead of platonic based on age, personality compatibility, emotional closeness, ease of living together, presence of sexual attraction, or other factors. However, their feelings toward their romantic interests would not be particularly distinguishable from platonic feelings and may be similar to how they feel for a best friend or beloved family member. They may pursue platonic, quasiplatonic, romantic, or no relationships.
Arlee Dunmire -- She has sorrel skin, dark brown eyes, and coily cinnamon hair that hangs just past her shoulders. She is tall with an oval face and modest breasts. Her heritage includes Snoqualmie, Lummi, Klallam, and African-American. However, she is not acknowledged by any tribe because her father knocked up her mother and then split. Arlee was raised by her single mother but that broke down in gradeschool when her mother couldn't support her anymore and Arlee wound up in foster care. Moving to a new placement every year or two left her with no roots, although she had a cordial relationship with her last foster family during the past two years. Arlee is currently 20 years old, and just left foster care after graduating from Highline Community College with an Associate of Applied Science in Business and an Administrative Assistant Certificate. She runs the office for a small clothing boutique, which really needs two or three people, but she's the only secretarial employee. Although Arlee has a steady job, she feels unhappy, unfulfilled, and lonely. She wants to start a family of her own, but realizes that she is unprepared, so she enrolled in the Homemade Families program. Arlee likes rich colors, mostly earth tones and deep hues such as plum and burnt orange. As a hobby, she goes beachcombing for craft materials -- which she then gives away to local crafters, because she likes hunting more than crafting.
Qualities: Good (+2) Administrative Assistant, Good (+2) Beachcomber, Good (+2) Extrovert, Good (+2) Logical-Mathematical Intelligence, Good (+2) Needs Little Sleep
Poor (-2) Overworked and Underpaid.
Associate of Applied Science in Business

BUSN 205 - International Business

DGS 207 - Cultural Awareness & Business Etiquette
Jeric Ribeiro -- He has toffee skin, black eyes, and short nappy brown hair. He is tall with a long triangular face. His parents had a messy divorce that dumped him into the foster care system as a preschooler, leaving him with behavior problems that made him unattractive to prospective parents. Jeric is currently 19 years old. He tends to dress in neutrals and prefers not to attract too much attention. Jeric enrolled in the North Seattle College, initially hoping to complete an Associate of Applied Science in Electronics Technology. However, he found college much harder than expected, so he lowered his target. He managed to scrape up qualifications for a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Technician Certificate, and then dropped out of both college and foster care. He still feels ashamed of his college performance, both sad and relieved at leaving foster care. Jeric does better at activities outside of school than in it, such as graffiti art. He craves family and wants to start one of his own, but recognizes that he needs learn how first, so he has enrolled in the Homemade Families program. He is secretly terrified of floundering in this course too.
Qualities: Good (+2) Graffiti Artist, Good (+2) Hiding in Plain Sight, Good (+2) Poorskills, Good (+2) Tall, Good (+2) Visual-Spatial Intelligence
Poor (-2) Student
Cleome Lloyd -- She has pale skin, green eyes, and curly chestnut hair to her shoulders. She is short with a heart-shaped face and small breasts. Cleome likes bright colors just a bit outside the pure, like tomato red or forest green. She is decent at playing fipple flutes, having learned at school on a battered old recorder that she still has, and later she bought herself a tinwhistle. She loves folk music but doesn't feel good enough to try busking yet. Cleome also likes the whole idea of the sharing economy. She failed high school, partly due to teacher hostility, but she managed to pass the GED test. Cleome is currently 18 years old. She has been sexually molested throughout much of her youth, first by her birth family, later by several foster relatives and other people. Twice this has made her pregnant, first at 12 and then at 16. Both ended in abortion, the first by force and the second by choice. She regrets both and has a lot of trauma relating to that as well as all the abuse itself. It does not help that there is pr0n of her on the internet. This also muddles her sense of sexual orientation; she thinks she might be bisexual but isn't sure. However, Cleome really wants to have a baby, this time on purpose. So she has enrolled in the Homemade Families program in hopes of putting herself back together. She also wants to travel rather than settling down immediately for a job or college.
Qualities: Good (+2) Cute, Good (+2) Folk Music Fan, Good (+2) Musical Intelligence, Good (+2) Sharing
Poor (-2) Sexual Abuse Survivor
Fipple flutes include recorders and tinwhistles. These things are ubiquitous in music classes at public schools because they're so cheap. This video shows some examples.
Fenna Margell -- She has pale skin, blue eyes, and long straight blonde hair. She is short with an oval face and small breasts. She is currently 18 years old. Her favorite color is purple, from lilac to violet, and she likes soft watercolor shades in general. She loves flowers and is a skilled gardener, having turned to plants for comfort during a lonely time in foster care. Just after Fenna entered high school her parents, both military, were deployed at the same time and she wound up in foster care -- only to have them both die in action shortly thereafter. This is precisely why Terramagne-America tries to avoid deploying both parents at once, but sometimes it still happens. Fenna threw herself into schoolwork as a distraction, which helped somewhat on a personal level, and certainly sent her out of high school with excellent grades. She is a lesbian, which makes her unhappy, partly due to unsupportive caregivers but also because she really wants to have a baby. So she has enrolled in the Homemade Families program in hopes of working out those tangles.
Qualities: Good (+2) Emotional Intelligence, Good (+2) Gardener, Good (+2) Pretty, Good (+2) Student
Poor (-2) Lesbian
Oakley Gilsoul -- He has fair skin, light brown eyes, and straight dark blond hair cut short. He is questioning his gender and sexual orientation, and pretty much everything else in his life, but he does know that he wants a family. Oakley's parents surrended him at a safe haven when he was twelve because he wasn't the kind of hypermacho son they wanted. His foster parents have varied, but none of them did well enough to form a strong attachment. However, this has made him very tolerant of other people's quirks. Oakley did poorly in school, partly due to discrimination and partly because Family Services moved him around several times. He dropped out as soon as he could and hasn't even attempted the GED. He is currently 18, recently kicked out of his last foster family the moment he became an adult. Oakley enjoys abstract art, both as a creator and as a viewer, because it doesn't have to mean any one thing. His favorite color is French rose. He wants a real family, even if it means he hast to build it from scratch. He has therefore enrolled in the Homemade Families program, hoping that he does better there than in high school.
Qualities: Good (+2) Abstract Art, Good (+2) Fast, Good (+2) Tolerance, Good (+2) Visual-Spatial Intelligence
Poor (-2) Confused and Questioning
