Poem: "Through Hell, into Heaven"
This poem came out of the October 2, 2018 Poetry Fishbowl. It was inspired and sponsored by Anthony & Shirley Barrette. It also fills the "family" square in my 9-30-18 card for the Fall Bingo fest.

"Through Hell, into Heaven"

Life is a journey,
through bright spots
and dark ones.

You take the jobs
that you can get.

They say, when you're
going through hell, keep going.

You're not afraid of hell,
because you've taught junior high,
driver's ed, prison classes.

You've done it all to put your kid
through college without debt,
and it has worked.

You've made it
to the finish line;
you're retired.

You have come
through hell, into heaven.
