Friday Yardening

Today is muggy and warm, partly sunny.  I went out and planted 10 Lavender Muscari 'Mountain Lady' around the forest garden.  These have white bells on top that turn blue-violet when they open farther down.

Monarchs are beginning to chain up.  There aren't very many of them, but they're hanging in groups on the trees.  I saw a dozen or so on Home Base.

EDIT 10/5/18: I went back out and planted 10 Lavender muscari 'Grape Ice' around the forest garden.  These have white bells on top that open into red-violet flowers below.

I heard a bluejay screaming "Thief!  Thief!" in the yard but couldn't spot him.  I did notice that there are few apples left on the Criterion tree, but the pears are ripening.
