 This is one of my favorite poems, although the linked song is not the tune I know.  There are a bunch of versions here.  This is the one I favor.

It's a lovely poem. I think we studied it briefly back when I was in college.

Interesting. I perform that song; the tune I use is my own version of a tune I heard (only once) from another Bard forty years ago; apparently that was his version of Christy Moore's tune. Regional variation is a many-splendoured thing.
