Creativity and the Internet
So this post claims that the Internet stifles creativity.

*looks at list of fishbowl prompts*

*looks at 200+ pages of notes on The Big One mostly drawn from seismic sciences*

*LAAAAAUUUUUGH*

If the Internet is killing your creativity, the problem isn't the Internet, it's you.  The Internet is just a bigger, flashier library.  Learn to use it or it will use you.  The world is full of inspiration.  Pick a piece, sit your ass down, and make something out of it.

Well ...

I've been saying it forever. That piece of advice never changes, only the obstacles people are complaining about. The context doesn't actually matter. All worlds are distracting, and also inspiring. All arts require you to select a topic and focus on making something for a while.

*Looks at all the Ravenstone story ideas I got from fan fiction and Tumblr posts* BWAH HA HA HA HA HA!!!

OMG, seriously, my Ravenstone series wouldn't even exist if it hadn't been for the Internet.

Yes ...

Neither would most of my poetic series. A few of them are things that I believe I would have found on my own, like Polychrome Heroics, but others like An Army of One are prevailingly fan-driven.
