Today's Adventures

We went up to the Broomcorn Festival today.  It's cool and intermittently drizzly, which by our standards is excellent weather for a street fair.  :D  This time I lasted an hour and a half, and we got to walk around the whole fair.  \o/  Some dumbass pointed the sign for the broomcorn tent in the wrong direction, though.  Dude.  You had one job.

We had just started to scout for food when I smelled corn and tracked it to a booth run by the same folks who do our favorite Mexican food truck.  They had a special: five tacos and a drink for $10.  :D 3q3q3q!!!  Best food bargain we've ever had at a fair.

Then we found a booth selling blackberry cobbler, which was also excellent, and they had a bit of table space so we squeezed in to eat it.  One lady was talking about the rain, and how some places rain all day, and I mentioned that America has its very own in the Hoh Rainforest.  And the guy across from us had grown up in that area!  :D  So we spent ten minutes pleasantly yakking about how big things are in a rainforest.  Said he found a frog once that was so big, he put a dog collar on it and walked it on a leash.  I wouldn't be surprised.

Other finds included a new melted mason jar spoon rest, half a pound of Arndt's fudge (chocolate black walnut and mint swirl), a hot sock stuffed with walnut hulls, our favorite bakery was there too so we got a box of butterscotch cookies, and Doug found someone selling pork rinds in various flavors.

A good time was had by all.  \o/
