Most of the big puddles in the fields are gone, and all the smaller ones. The yard is lush and green. Seen at the birdfeeders this week: sparrows, mourning doves, several cardinals, and plenty of of house finches. In bloom: marigolds, gazania, blue lobelia, white alyssum, zinnias, yarrow, torenia, salvia, cleome, petunia, million bells, snapdragons, lantana, coreopsis, dianthus, peppers, lamb's ear, comfrey, basil, daylilies, begonia, golden raintree, and sundry others. Raspberries, crabapples, and apples have green fruit. Mulberries, serviceberries, and cherries are ripe. I have planted everything from the previous batch of plants.
