Character Notes for "Bitter Ice"

Here are the character notes for the poem "Bitter Ice."

Isolde O'Breen -- She has ruddy skin, blue eyes, and short red hair. Her mother is Welsh and her father is Irish. She speaks English, Espranto, French, German, Irish, and Welsh. She studies penguins and other polar species to learn how they survive in frigid environments without freezing. She has contributed many valuable discoveries to fields including cryogenics and cryogenesis. Isolde is a capable leader, popular with her minions and students. She likes to scoop them out of disadvantaged situations and offer them a better deal. She's always honest about the supervillainy part, but they usually agree anyway. Isolde also has a knack for making tasty meals out of the preserved foods available in harsh environments.
Origin: As a graduate student, she attracted too much praise, so a rival locked her in a freezer, expecting it to cripple or kill her. Instead, it gave her Ice Powers and she blew the door off. But then her former admirers didn't want her around the college anymore. Kraken wasn't so picky.
Uniform: Typically cold-weather gear, with practical clothes underneath. She also has the Kraken uniform of dexflan and capery, with commander insignia. The jumpsuits are sensibly designed with sleek fit, plenty of pockets and fasteners for equipment. They provide Expert (+4) Camouflage to a designated user, but if worn by anyone else, turn garish neon colors.
Qualities: Master (+6) Polar Biologist, Expert (+4) Endurance, Expert (+4) Gizmologist, Good (+2) Bunker Cooking, Good (+2) Leader, Good (+2) Observant
Poor (-2) Heat Tolerance
Powers: Expert (+4) Ice Powers
Motivation: To harness the ice.

Sander Albinson -- He has pinkish-fair skin, blue eyes, and short blond hair. His mustache is blond, his beard mostly blond with reddish patches at the cheeks. He is limnosexual, experiencing attraction toward erotic art and literature, but not physical acts. His heritage is Swedish. He speaks English, German, Greek, and Swedish. Sander serves as a science minion for Isolde O'Breen in Kraken. He found the organization through hacking, and joined because previous employers and friends complained about his "porn addiction." Kraken doesn't care about Sander's love life as long as he does his job, and he's a very capable minion.
Qualities: Good (+2) Constitution, Good (+2) Gentle, Good (+2) Hacker, Godo (+2) Reliable, Good (+2) Science Minion
Poor (-2) Social Outcast

Limno: experiencing attraction towards depictions of attraction (writing or drawings) but not the physical acts

Briella Bailey -- She has pinkish-fair skin, brown eyes, and long wavy brown hair. Her heritage is American. She speaks English, Latin, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish. She is a graduate student at Cornell University, where she studies ornithology with a particular interest in sea birds. Briella works as a research assistant for Isolde O'Breen in Kraken, who scooped her up by the simple expedient of offering Briella a chance to do original research in Antarctica.
Qualities: Good (+2) Ambitious, Good (+2) Fast, Good (+2) Gregarious, Good (+2) Naturalistic Intelligence, Good (+2) Ornithology Student

Kedrick Westbay -- He has pinkish-fair skin, brown eyes, and dark hair buzzed short. He grew up in a poor neighborhood. Although Kedrick wanted to become a doctor, he couldn't afford it. So he scraped up what first aid classes he could, and started helping people who couldn't go to a regular doctor. That got him in trouble, but also brought him to the attention of supervillains, who often need medical care but can't always get it. Currently Kedrick works for Kraken, serving on research ships where a modest amount of knowledge usually suffices for their needs. The organization also supports his efforts to learn more.
Qualities: Good (+2) Compassion, Good (+2) Interpersonal Intelligence, Good (+2) Medic, Good (+2) Strength, Good (+2) Therapeutic Games
Poor (-2) Limited Education
