How Ableism Affects a Book Review

One of my writer-friends, Nicola Griffith, dissects a poorly-written review of her novel So Lucky.  Warning for graphic literary ableism.  The post also tipped me to this brilliant list of ways that men suppress women's writing, which generalize well to oppressing the creative output of other disadvantaged groups.

If you think the reviewer is a dick for belittling women's writing, disabled writers, and disabled women protagonists with faint praise and ableist phrasing ... there's an easy way to protest: buy the book and post your own review of it framed in more inclusive terms.
