Birdfeeding

I went out to feed the birds today.  It's spitting snow.

The mourning dove is sitting on her nest.  I've seen several cardinals, plenty of doves, and sparrows moving around.  I also saw a woodpecker foraging in the grass -- possibly a northern flicker or red-bellied woodpecker.  The other day I saw a brown-headed cowbird at the hopper feeder.  Blackbirds have been around too.

It was spitting snow over here late this afternoon too.
I've got a peach tree trying to bud out and all but the late crew amongst my daffodils are blooming now.

Snow was forecast for southwestern Virginia. What I walked out through was fine, light mist but felt needly, like miniature snow. Anyway it's not sticking... #phenology
