Snowflake Challenge Day 1: "Why Are You Participating?"

Day 1

In your own space, talk about why you're participating in Snowflake and, if you’ve participated in the past, how the challenge has affected you. What drew you to it? What did you take away from it? What do you hope to accomplish this year? Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

I participate in [community profile] snowflake_challenge for a variety of reasons.  It's fun.  It gives me something new and interesting to post about each day.  It attracts more people to my blog.  I also enjoy reading other people's posts.  Some of those people may become new friends -- in a good year I'll pick up at least one fan.

I have participated in previous rounds from 2017 and 2015.  The main result has been meeting new people.  I already know myself and my work pretty well, although it is fun to look back and see what I've accomplished.

You can read about my goals for 2018 here.  In 2017, I met 13 out of 27 goals -- almost half, which is not bad.
