Real white chocolate is made from cocoa butter, and therefore related to milk and dark chocolate. It just doesn't have the dark cocoa solids they do.

"White baking squares" or other substitutes lack the defining feature of cocoa butter and other derivatives of the cocoa plant.

I'm not a big fan of either, but white chocolate is clearly superior to substitutes.

Really? I thought it was just some weird-flavored almond bark or whatever it's called.
