Saturday Yardening

Today I finished trimming and clearing weeds around the septic tank cap.  Now it needs to have the cut brush gathered up, the surface raked over, and fresh topsoil applied.

I've been seeing lots of grackles around the birdfeeders.  They're larger than the songbirds, so it's funny watching them try to use the hopper feeder, which has narrow ledges.  I saw a female cardinal today, but no male.  Usually they appear in pairs.

The crocus in the rain garden is more open now.  More of the daffodils are blooming too.  :D

Most of my bushes have scattered blooms on them now.
Our big forsythia bush has already bloomed out, leafed out, & is being checked out by dueling mockingbirds.
