Moment of Silence: Mike Briggs

Mike Briggs (husband of author Patricia Briggs, best known for her urban fantasy series of 'Mercy Thompson' and 'Alpha and Omega' books) died suddenly, this morning. Patty's assistant Ann posted a message on Facebook: "It is with a very heavy heart that I write of the passing of one of the finest men I have ever known. Mike Briggs passed away very early this morning, very unexpectedly. We are all deeply in shock and grieving. Things on the webpage and Facebook will likely be a bit neglected while we sort things out and make all the necessary arrangements.   Mike was simply just an awesome and amazing man; we will miss him every day for the rest of our our lives.  The purple avenger will be doing his good works in heaven; I will strive to live up to the example and high standards that he set."

EDIT 1/27/17:  I have written an elegy for Mike Briggs.  My heart goes out to his family.  I have greatly enjoyed the the novels by Patricia Briggs, especially the Alpha and Omega series.
